another night out in B-town!

Haha. I've been exhausted all week and haven't had a chance to update before now.. awesome..

what can I said, I had a ROUGH weekend last week! Friday = beers out with colleagues. There was like, 2 people out. So me and ~a guy~ decided to go out to drink some more, somewhere else, something else, maybe a birthday, who knows, who cares.. anyhow. We ended up quite drunk with nowhere to sleep and no transportation.

I figured, oh let's just sleep at my bro's place. No problem. So I woke him up 3.30 am, justifying it with the fact that I brought chicken wings. I mean, my brother likes food. He's a poor student, damnit. Oh, and yeah I still had that guy on my arm. Haha. Classy.

So, I wake up Saturday morning and went straight to work. (Working 10 am in the morning is NOT an excuse not to go out! I mean puh-lease!) Hah.. that was a story for itself. And then the whole thing repeated itself.

And, look at that! It's weekend again! sweeeet.

in my shoes

my youngest sister... aw SWEET.

happy times

I'm so elated, I'm so infatuated.. and I know I'm probably just fooling myself, but it's better than not being fooled at all..

cheers for everyone who knows about the good things in life (chocolate, love and wine.)

a short, informal introduction

My name is Helen, I'm 19 years old and I currently reside in Norway.. well, let's be honest, that's where I've lived practically my whole life. I did spend one year in Orlando, Florida though, working the magic for Disney. As much as it was "the best year of my life" It's nice to be back home; real life is calling.

As far as my job goes, I work in customer service for a broadband company. It's fun, but also only meant as time off before I continue school next year. I don't have that much of a life outside my job, except when I go out in the weekends, and then on Mondays I play bridge. Haha :)

Here's me (and friends) in Disney:

Have you ever been to the Walt Disney World resort in Florida? Can you guess where I worked? Hint: somewhere in Epcot, and yes, it's related to my nationality.. hehe ;)

Driving in high heels?

The other day, I was driving around to pick up some stuff I had left at the hotel after the work party. It was quite a long trip (especially for someone quite hungover like me.. hehe) and I had to stop for gas. For the occasion, I was wearing my best driving shoes, with quite high heels. Maybe not the best choice, but OH WELL, right?

Anyway, there I was, in a quite bad mood already (I NEVER remember which side of the car the gas tank is, and I always guess wrong!) Then this lady from the south of Norway, judging by her accent, confronts me about this, saying it could be dangerous! I even drive automatic, it's not exactly rocket science... sure, it's a bit uncomfortable, but as long as I don't care, she shouldn't care either.. what the hell? Is it really that wrong to drive in high heels?

Nail polishes.

I'm crazy about crazy nail polishes, so I just ordered a few.. and here's pictures that I shamelessly stole from various places on the internet:

Haha. I love online shopping.. I can't help it but I get this tingly feeling.. and when I go to the post office to pick it up.. it's just great! love it! Looking forward to these beauties arrival!

I just ordered this

Need a camera..

I thought it looked fancy, and the price was nice. When I tried finding reviews of it, I couldn't find anything at all. Very annoying. So I thought; what the heck, I take it. Someone has to be the first, right? haha - :) Even though it takes crap pics, there's nothing photoshop can't fix..

happy monday

I survived the first work day after the party. No funny comments about drunk behaviour. So I'll just assume I behaved perfectly.. I usually do ;) I work with mostly guys at an IT company, and guys doesn't gossip that much.. now, back to that glass of wine.

work parties...

Friday, it was time for the annual fall party. Well, I only started in this job two months ago, so this was my first work party.. as anticipated, it was a good dinner, good entertainment and good fun. We all got into the Norwegian drinking spirit, and I thought it was hilarious to see some of my bosses drunk. That's the best part, right?

New shoes.

Now I'm waiting for my friend as we're supposed to hike in the mountains today, but he last called me at 4 am and I suspect he's feeling "tired" from yesterday. haha, cheers.

If you play, you play for keeps

Weekend soon! Yesterday I didn't have time to blog... honestly, I didn't have time to do anything! I fell asleep at 7 pm and slept for 12 hours. It was quite good.. but I did dream that I was at work, answering calls from unhappy customers. And I wanted to tell them to call me back when I wasn't sleeping, but then I thought like "oh but poor customer, I have to help them now" haha. Now I call that good service!

Anyhow, tomorrow is a big party and I'm getting all ready.. hope that dress still fits! I'm not so sure if that chocolate diet is working anymore.. hehe. Instead of thinking about it I'm having a nice glass of red wine right now. I've heard it's healthy...

make a toast for everything that makes you happy! Cheers!

Dresses...

I need inspiration.. so I inspired myself.

By the way, the dress needs to be: simple, not sexy, not ordinary...

here we go:

By Malene Birger, $495.

Rebecca Taylor, $295

DAY Birger et Mikkelsen $560

This last one is a bit dressed up compared to what I'm looking for, but it's called "Helen".. that happens to be my name as well! :) Misunderstand me correctly, I love dressy dresses but it's just not what I'm looking for this time.
Anyhow, which one should I choose? None of them of course, they're way above my price range and I'm not interested in buying online... but at least now I know a bit better what I'm looking for.. hehe.

cheers, puss och kram

finally Monday...

I'm exhausted after a hard weekend and I'm happy to be back at work with time to relax.. If I now can get some time to go to IKEA and wash all my clothes I'd be happy and everything would be perfect.. but I guess I have to be social as well ;( HA-HA.

Today after work I certainly didn't have time to do anything.. after work I went around shopping for a bit before my bridge class.. I didn't find much. There's no perfect dress out there. I bought a cute ring instead!

Instead, I bought a ring.. very cute. Reminded me of one I saw from Tiffany's, only cheaper, sturdier and cuter. I realize now, that what I should've bought is perhaps a camera... what is a blog without pictures? ;)

Cheers, puss och kram!

put your glass up in the air

Happy halloween! I've put on my cowgirl-suit and I'm ready to have a drink or two. But can you believe it? I forgot to buy alcohol before they closed the alcohol sale today... in Norway you can't buy alcohol after six on saturdays. Crazy, right? So there I was on the bus, exhausted as I went out yesterday as well, happy that I got all my shopping done, and realized it was ten to six, and while I was supposed to buy my beer, I had been wandering aimlessly around looking for a new dress.

You see, today I also found out that I was going to treat myself to a new dress - but I can't just go out and buy one... it has to "find me", and it has to be perfect. But it's not going to find me unless I go around looking for one... usually this "finding" happens at a time when you're completely broke and you can't possibly buy the garment of your dreams. Lucky for me, this whole being broke thing doesn't occur as often as it used to.. heh..

puss puss.

By the way, I solved the whole alcohol crisis by borrowing an old bottle of Kahlua from my parents.. which I now realize is actually the same bottle that I used to steal sips from when I was 16-17 and had home alone parties. Haha. I'd rather have a bottle of wine, but we probably don't have one. That's what it's like to live with a family that usually only drinks alcohol-free beer. What's the point of that?

Internet crisis

This morning I woke up, tried to check up on my facebook.. and realized: no internet. Crap. So, the deal is, the C-dale is developing and they're builing everywhere around my house. So I just figured the morons finally cut the phone cable. Time to call the internet company.. wait a minute, that's me. Haha..

On the other hand, my diet is working perfectly! I've lost 6 pounds since I returned from Florida. Can you imagine? Little me who eats at least a little chocolate a day? Well, chocolate makes you happy which again is healthy... as long as you know the art of limiting yourself. Which, let's be honest here.. most people don't...
